OUR TEAM
Evon Kirkland-McAngus, Owner, Founder & Designer
Evon Kirkland McAngus has been in the business of designing interiors for nearly twenty-five years, and during that time has earned the respect of her peers and established a loyal following. She is a professional member of IIDA and ASID and is NCIDQ certified. Admired for her thoughtful presentation and clean design, Evon advises her clients to make timeless, sophisticated choices for major furnishings.
Having such an established identity in the design community, Evon understands the impact of a reputable interior designer. “People are especially selective now with regards to their money. Clients are very value-conscious of both design fees and products. But I also truly believe that using an interior designer is a choice that will ensure a more successful outcome for their project.”
Although her portfolio includes numerous commercial projects and residential renovations, Evon is especially accomplished in new construction projects. “I enjoy the challenges that come with working on a project from day one. There are always numerous solutions to any project, and my goal is to develop the one that will best fit my clients’ needs and wishes.” Some of Evon’s recent projects include new construction properties in Lake Murray, Forest Lake, Pompano, FL, Asheville, Big Canoe, GA & Fayetteville, NC.
Evon lives on Lake Murray with her husband, Hugh McAngus. They have 6 children and 11 grandchildren. She enjoys baking, gardening, and traveling in her free time.
Alisa Bunch, Senior Designer
Alisa uses interior design as an outlet for her natural creativity. The Mobile, Alabama, native loves designing kitchens, pulling fabrics and finishes together, and solving challenges posed by awkward spaces. She’s passionate about getting to know and understand her clients, which has led many of them to seek her help with multiple projects.
Alisa began her journey to excellence in interior design with a degree in Interior Design and minors in International Studies and Business from Auburn University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She joined Westend Interiors as an intern in the summer of 2009 and is both NCIDQ certified and a professional member of ASID.
“I love finding an inspiration piece to build the room around, whether it’s a fabric, wallpaper, or a fabulous chandelier. I’m also inspired by current trends but modify them to create timeless designs with the perfect amount of wow-factor.” Her favorite part of the design process is seeing all the individual pieces coalesce into a beautiful, functional space for her clients.
Alisa lives in Forest Acres with her husband, 2 daughters, Pierce and Leighton, and her dog, Milly. They enjoy spending their weekends at their family farm or Litchfield beach.
Hayley McDonald, Senior Designer
Hayley’s love for interior design started as early as childhood and is woven into the fabric of her family. Growing up in Rock Hill, SC, Hayley bonded with her grandmother and namesake over their shared passion for art and interior design. Now she cherishes her ability to live out her grandmother’s dream of working in design professionally.
After earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Interior Design from Winthrop University, Hayley brought her talents to Westend and has never looked back. She is an allied member of ASID and an associate member of IIDA. She’s inspired by color and function–her ultimate goal is to transform a home into a space that fits a family’s needs, makes their lives easier, and evokes happiness through beauty.
Hayley prides herself on building lasting relationships with her clients. She’s a firm believer that great designs begin with a full understanding of her clients' needs & expectations and is passionate about creating beautiful spaces with a variety of budgets, styles, & timeframes. She feels that approaching design with no hard and fast rules is the best way to ensure a client’s personality shines through.
Hayley is mom to 3 sports-loving boys–Luke, Reid, and Myles, and owner of a Great Dane puppy named Eli. Her husband owns 3 small restaurants around the Columbia area, and the family is thrilled to have just moved into their forever home in Lexington. On summer breaks they love to visit her husband’s hometown in upstate NY on the Lawrence River.
